Hope this helps. Back in the spring of 2000 when I was RGRPC's treasurer we purchased the wheel lathe (Niles 54-in. WL42 Wheel Lathe S/N 23643) from Peterson Machinery Sales, Casa Grande, AZ. I recall that it came from the Morenci Copper Mine, but I could be mistaken. With it the C&TSRR no longer had to ship locomotive driver wheel sets elsewhere (like Durango) for turning. RGRPC subsequently passed title over to the C&TSRR Commission. Certainly has proven to be a cost-effective acquisition to this day.
