Gilbert Lathrop mentioned a water service man by the name of George Tresise who serviced the pump tanks. They were water tanks that you had to fill with a steam powered pump. Alongside of the tank was a small house containing a 15 or 20 hp coal fed boiler, coal bin and a steam pump and some had a small room for sleeping over if necessary. He was stationed out of Gunnison but it would appear that Cimarron was the only one west that had a pump. The Parlin tank is mentioned as being pumped as well. I wonder how many were of this arrangement as to have a man servicing them would mean more than a scant few? Paul.
