Rich - If memory serves right (it has been years since I noticed this one way or t'other) some of the old DSP&P route into Leadville from the south can still be seen from the highway between Buena Vista & Leadville, on the rocky valley wall across the river. The connection of the old DSP&P (C&S) line (which was standard gauged about 1943 or '46) up to Climax with the D&RG was taken out sometime in the 1980s - I have a picture somewhere of a D&RGW train on that line, which is now a jogging path...
