Herb,

are you meaning the type that stood at Alamosa, Antonito, Chama and Sargent or have you a link to a picture of this Coaling trestle at Durango you mentioned?

The 1923 ETT states "Shovel from Cars" and the Monte Ballough picture in Beyond The Third Rail pg100 shows an elevated coaling track about as high as floorlevel of a flatcar.
