Herb Kelsey: the cars at Knott's are wire for 110v. We ran the dynamo at 80-90v. All roof conduit was removed at Knott's at some point and wires run in the roof.

The San Juan coaches and parlor cars had steam heat, but only the coaches had a single coal stove for extra or emergency use. Again I remember coal in one or more of the boxes under the cars at Knott's. Only the blacksmithing uses coal at Knott's so I doubt anybody at Knott's put coal in the boxes.

My only argument against coal storage would be for the parlor cars. They had storage boxes and no coal stoves.
