How does the loop apply it's motive power today?

July 22, 2016 04:56PM
When I last visited the Georgetown Loop, in 2011, the 12 would lead the train down the hill and the Porter would desend by itself and pull every body back up the hill.
9 was in the shop being brought back to service and 111 sat in pieces, for the future.

I remember that once 9 went on line, 12 left. So how did they operate? Did 9 do the entire trip by itself? Or did the Diesel help? Then with 130/140 how are they used? And once 111 goes into service, what is the plan? I would assume that using steam as much as possible is the plan but what will operations look look like?
