I was wondering if it was a regular tool box that maybe they just didn't open it, just plopped the light on it until they made the real mount in 1949.

I was not aware the tender bunker was moved to a new frame at the CRRM. Did they build a new frame exactly like the old one? Since the light was moved to its current bracket in 1949 there would not be much evidence of its previous mounting today. I have photos a friend took of the top of the tender rear.

Why don't they steam up 318 any more? Is there a cost estimate of what it take to restore her like #20 is getting? I would like to see a fund started when 20 is finished.
