Well if I was doing that I'd pull up the Blue cut to Cumbres, lift the Green cut from the siding through the cross-over and push it back onto the Blue cut, drop down to the East-end switch to lift the 3rd cut(Red) out of the siding, push it all back together and do the Air-test.
John's initial outlay of this included setting Retainers, I never had any experience of those things even on 1 in 35 grades as we don't have them on NZR but I'm sure Retainers were only used on 4%+ grades, certainly nowhere like on the 1.42% that is East of Cumbres.
