There was an auction held by the EBT back in the early 1960's and a late friend of mine, John Denny attended. He told me that a number of EBT items were sold including some switch locks and lanterns. My switch lock and lantern came from that auction which may have been around 1960 when the line reopened. As the story goes the EBT needed some extra $$ and Mr. Wilburn decided to sell some things. I rode the EBT in 1960 but was a kid and didn't go to the auction. Does anyone on here remember or attend the sale?
Is the sign stolen? There's no way of knowing if it came from the auction unless the seller has paperwork that shows they have had it for 56 years.
