Now I'm REALLY confused, John (what else is gnu?) -
IIRC, on Nov. 20 1960, #844 ran from Cheyenne to Rawlins & back; on Nov. 11, 1961 (my sister Boo-Boo's 16th birthday), #844 ran from Denver to Green River (or Rock Springs?) & back (with the C&S business car on the rear of the train?); and on Nov. 18, 1962, #8444 ran from Cheyenne to Ogden (but I got off in Rock Springs and caught a diseasel-powered passenger train back to Cheyenne. But - as Willie has pointed out - my memory is not what is used to be, so maybe I am mixing up the 1961 and 1962 trips, and also maybe the servicing photos posted above were taken in Rock Springs rather than Green River (especially as the mountain in the background (above) looks quite a bit different from the one in the following photo - taken on October 13, 1975 - which I'm sure was taken at Green River, since it matches closely with a much older photo of Green River in Beebe & Clegg's 'The Age of Steam'

* With the caveat that Beebe & Clegg have been known to play free and easy with captions - such as identifying a U.P. 4-6-6-4 as a Big Boy rather than as a Challenger - so maybe the above photo was taken at Table Rock (or Tipton)
