The locomotive is a Pennsylvania narrow gauge engine, 42 inch gauge. Kulp Lumber Co, c.n. 154 1897.First numbered three, then renumbered nine after rebuilding. Locomotive is an early Climax 25 ton design with the exposed throttle behind the steam dome and bell on the sand dome. The engine was wrecked or in a fire or both, and has a replacement cab and some other signs of damage, including a missing builders plate and the cover on top of the cylinder. I believe the engine went to Maryland and was sold in 1912 after more hard use. Never say never, but I don't think this engine wound up in Oregon. The picture as shown is reversed.
