Dave: the view appears to me to be one of the many made by William Henry Jackson and B.W. Kilburn of the special train run over the Santa Fe Branch c.1890. A series of stereo photographs entitled "Trip to New Mexico, D&RGRR,USA" were published by Kilburn of Littleton, NH. The locomotives used on this trip included 2-8-0 #418 and 4-4-0 #100. Your picture appears to show the tender of the 4-4-0. The first two passenger cars are also identical to those used on the special. The trip also ran over La Veta Pass and through the Toltec Gorge/Toltec Tunnel. Some of the series only show the 4-4-0 and two cars. In looking at the ten men in your photograph, they can be identified as being the same ones (dress, hats, etc.) in a view I have that was taken of these same men with Dump Mountain in background on La Veta. Thanks for posting this interesting view, which is not among the other Kilburn or Jackson prints that I have seen.
