FWIW, Vince -

About 45 years ago, John & Thomas Hall and I (see 4th photo on [ngdiscussion.net]) took advantage of the low water in late summer to wade across the creek / river just south of Ironton and hike up to the Corkscrew Gulch turntable site.  I have NO idea how accessible that location is today; it's quite possible that with the resurgence of mining that the entire area has been fenced off and labeled as 'Private Property'.
