Re: RGS recreation in 2016 on the C&TS?

Another thought about recreating the RGS on the C&TS using other operational locomotives.

A few years ago my son and I went through some of the RGS Dispatchers train sheets at the CRRM. We found 315 used quite a bit in the 1920’s on the RGS. We looked in the early 40’s as well but have not gone back to search through the 1930’s. Here are a few dates we recorded with 315 operating on the RGS;

10/3/25 315 and 346 were both operating on the RGS on this day.
6/20/26
5/25/27 part of a 4 engine extra with 345, 315, 42 and 341
1/5/28
3/28/28
3/29/28 T-12’s 167 and 169 were also on the RGS on this day
3/30/28

We were looking for specific dates that the RGS C-16 were retired from service on the RGS so we did not record every day that is in the Museum’s collection. This is just a sampling of the days 315 was operated on the RGS.
The collection of Dispatches sheets at CRRM is not complete. There are many days missing from the collection.

There is photgraphic evidence that puts 315 on the RGS in 1940, 41 and 46 as well.
