I received the following information about the Grumpy conductor & cast from the creator, David Dibble:
"The conductor is Dan Stangby, a longtime conductor for the Durango and Silverton. This idea is completely inspired by him as that is his persona, especially with new brakemen. The engineer is Jeff Ellingson, who has been with the railroad since the beginning while the fireman was actually a new brakeman. The bartender is a parlor car attendant for the railroad. The guy drinking at the bar is Wayne Pratt, another conductor making a cameo. The various faces you see (the Marshall, two of the women) are historic narrators for the railroad and the others are members of the Silverton Historic Society and volunteer at the museum in town. Lacey Black, the piano player, regularly plays at Grumpy’s and is one of the draws to the restaurant. Our small crew was made up of railroad employees who enthusiastically volunteered. It was a fun project for everyone involved. I’m glad it’s being seen."
And if you are in the Durango area David’s new short film titled “Milepost 479” will be screening during this weeks Durango Film Festival on Sunday March 6 at 9:30am at the Gaslight 1 theater. It will definitely give you a chill.
