Not all of the "baby" Shays were 2'ers. The Molino Timber Company in the Loma Prieta area of Santa Cruz County, CA, had a 10-ton Class A built new to 30", which ran alongside an 11-ton sibling acquired second hand (it was built as a 3' contractor's engine and subsequently re-gauged). The smallest-gauge sidewinder I'm personally aware of Lima building was a 500mm (about 19.6" gauge) 12-tonner, ordered by a New York agent of the Carmen Centrale in Puerto Rico.
