Right On, Larry -
"The Age of Steam" was all I asked for as a high school graduation present in 1959.
In spite of a few erroneous captions (mis-identifying a Challenger as a Big Boy, for example), it was a fabulous record of the golden age of railroading, and I still enjoy looking at the great variety of photos. "Narrow Gauge in the Rockies", "Rio Grande" and "The Central Pacific & The Southern Pacific Railroads (with 121 photographs by Richard Steinheimer)" are among my most treasured possessions. Stein's photos of the Timkin Daylight, GS-5 #4458, on pages 290-291 and 387 of the latter are deeply etched in my memory, and a great inspiration for my own humble efforts to save a few memories.
