L.B. Came to Baltimore in 1947 to promote his new book "Mixed Train Daily". He and Glegg chartered a special train on the Maryland & Pennsylvania RR (MA & PA) that ran from Baltimore to Delta, PA. The trip was written up in the society pages of the Baltimore Sun Newspaper. A number of railfans including Charlie Mahan chased the train which was pulled by the famous 4-4-0 #6. Charlie and his friend Warren Olt got photos of the extra in a number of places including the scenic Rocks Park. A feature of the train was the flatcar fixed with seats and railings. It was a nice day and everyone was out on the car drinking champagne. The special brought some nice p.r. to the M&P which in the late 1940's and early 1950's was still running 4-4-0 locomotives pulling wooden open vestibule coaches.
