The 1991 and 1997 runs had "chase trains" run following the rotary. The 1997 was the only one that was planned in advance. That was GBarts thing. That was his first year running the C&TS (into the ground...) and he wanted a big publicity bash to start things off. I recall it was a pretty dry winter, but we got enough late winter snow to make it a necessity.
