For me the rotary trips are pure C&TS. I suppose that is arbitrary on my part, but running a steam rotary up Cumbres is more people than machinery and I think the C&TS folks deserve the credit. So I am perfectly happy to photograph a red rotary lettered C&TS and pushed by C&TS engines (even if one engine in one pic is letter Rio Grande, that's an okay nod to history). The rotary is a sufficiently dramatic machine that I'm not sure trying to recreate the DRGW days really adds all that much, or is even feasible with the equipment available these days. I'm not against a phraudo-rotary outing, but I think most folks would be perfectly happy with a C&TS rotary outing.
