Henry Willis did not retire after the demise of the Chili Line. I finally got around to looking at some train register pages from Cumbres, that I had made copies of a few years ago. In March of 1943, Willis was working as one of the regular conductors on trains 115-116, the Alamosa-Durango passenger train. He was no longer on the run a year later. Some one living in the Denver area could take a look at the 1943-1944 train registers for Cumbres, at the Colorado Railroad Museum, to determine his last day on this train.
