As noted above, short threads often get hijacked - which is usually where long threads come from. For example, you used a side comment about the length of the thread to change the focus of the thread from the S.V. locos to the length of threads in general. As a further example, I'm going to use the odd shade of gray in the builder's photo posted above to ask, "What color was #101 when that builder's photo was taken?", which should be good for at least 30 or 40 heated comments
