Hi, youse guys -
I'm wondering if that's really #487, no matter what the date. IIRC, #487's plow is closely integrated with her pilot beam, and VERY difficult to remove; I'm not sure whether there's even a typical boiler-tube pilot under #487's plow, or if she has run without the plow any time since the fifties. Also, the numerals on the front number plate in John's photo appear very clean - as though they had just been painted - so it could be #484 in disguise. (But
not #483, as her handrail to the step that gives access to the headlight is a big quarter circle, whereas those on #484 and #487 are rectangular with a short curve at the corner.)
