It's a pretty well known fact that UP has ALWAYS wanted to become a TRUE Trans-Continental. But if they manage to pull it off, don't look for them to let ANY steam operate anywhere on the system except the 844, 3965, and maybe the Big Boy when its done. While I applaud them for still operating steam at all, I think its a short coming on their part to exclude every OTHER fully operable, and regionally historic steam locomotive off their tracks.
