Herb--You need to read my further explanation of what I consider an "operational" locomotive to be--one that makes it back home alive doing what it was supposed to be doing. We've had a spate of late trains, very late trains, trains going home to Durango behind diesels, and this is because of a series of mechanical malfunctions. There have been a lot of them lately most of which have not rated mention here. But the good old 473 keeps on ticking--and now we are to see the 478 leaving for another 480. I guess my sense of humor got a twist with Johnson Barr here the other day.
