That was one of my favorite movies too, except that Fess Parker got caught!!! Just last week I watched a trilogy of Davey Crockett episodes on a Disney DVD. Unfortunately he didn't make it out of the Alamo in that one either, although they faded to black with Davey fighting away. I guess they were sensitive to us little kids back then. Who out there had a coon-skin cap like I did?? I even had the Davey Crockett tent, that went over a card table....Oh the good old days when life was simple!
As for the General we saw it come through on the N&W once on a flatcar in the 60's. I think my dad made a short movie clip.
