I will recommend the Elk Horn Cafe, on the south side of town. I have been eating there for years. It used to be so-so when the Elk Horn Lodge owned it and leased it to various operators. But several years ago they sold it and the new owners are doing a very good job. On my most recent visit I had breakfast, lunch and dinner there on two days, and was very pleased with the food, New Mexican and main stream American. They do a good turkey dinner (they roast their own turkey), and for the light eaters they do a very good Chicken Caesar Salad. Over on the Antonito side the Dutch Mill does a really good (and filling) stuffed sopapilla, and their green chile can be a meal in itself.
