Stock Extra 485 East *PIC*

..with 484 standing in for long departed 485. Taken Sept. 24, 1980 at a location later to be named "Dalton". This was one of the first "private charters" operated on the C&TS. It was also my first involvement with the C&TS. I spent the previous two days under stockcars installing triple valves. I chased the train as far as Sublette and intended to give the person chartering the train a nice donation in Antonito. However, he took great exception to me being out there shooting pics and proceeded to chew me out for doing so at Sublette, dispite me spending a great deal of time making HIS train run. So I kept my $20 and went back to Chama and volunteered to help the brakemen on the next day's train. The next spring I hired on the C&TS, and when the same individual chartered a train that fall, he was most upset that I was his fireman....
