Gents: further research into the SL&M Comine #23 shows that it is NOT former C&S #23. The SL&M #23 was a much shorter car with different window arrangement. SL&M's first combine was #22 (shown in C.R. Savage photo in previous post). More photos an information will be in next BOGIES & LOOP (DSP&P Hist. Soc.) The #23 is the "spitting image" of a C&S Combine with steps, platform removed on Baggage-Mail-Express end and a typical oversize brake wheel. But, if not C&S, then where did this car come from?
