ET&WNC

Hey ya'll, was Johnson City the point where the ET&WNC RR connected to the Southern? Just outside of downtown there is what apears to be an old fright transfer station or something, long, narrow, and well maintained to this day....I wonder if this was where the rr came up to the Southern Main. Also, was Johnson City the base for operations for the RR as it ran east to Boone NC? Is there any of the original ET&WNC SG track in the Johnson City/Elizabethton areas that is still used? I'm heading down there the second week of April and was going to take a look around. John
