Gee John I figured since you went to so much work recovering the trucks, repainting and lettering that the ladders would be addressed as part of the project teams punch list.
No need to totally remake the complete ladder, just cut and splice in (weld) or bolt in with a splice plate for the replcement top section to the existing ladder and it will look just like the original.
The devil is in the details and this is one that deserves a second look IMHO.
So we would need about 24 steel straps, 12 grab irons, bolts etc. fabricated to complete the top section. I will buy the materials and maybe you can get your shop boys to fab them in class? Installation perhaps next year?
