Rgsgoose4: If you are of some official capacity for the Ridge RR Museum, could you post the first paragraph of the August 2015 newsletter. I don't want to post it as I am just a member and figure it is copyrighted material.
Between your newsletter and what I heard as a crew member on Goose 5 on the C&T last month, I think the world needs to better understand the insurance costs for the geese to fly. This is getting to be a BIG deal for what I have learned between 2 sources. I have a bunch of hear-say, but I don't have much official information.
For what I have learned in this thread, the geese will fly on the D&S. Get on now if you can. The insurance costs may raise quickly, and your chance may never occur again. I am glad I had a chance to ride Goose 4 a few years ago at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Her first trip out in 50 years, and she was a very reliable machine over that weekend. A very hot weekend. I wish I could ride her again, but it won't be this year. It might be never again. I look forward to ride reports from those that do get to do so.
I learned last month, that "Next Year" could be a long away*. In todays world, maybe never.
