Those are real good photo's but its still hard to tell if that's paint or just a layer of dirt and grim.

I'm detailing a 1:20.3 model and I went ahead and painted them silver. They came out nice and brings out a little more detail that was hidden. Late 50's to 60's is my era so it should pass.
