Southern Pacific ng business car #20 was
NOT from the F&CC.
The car came to the SP through the Nevada-California-Oregon in 1929. On the N-C-O it was named "FAIRPORT."
The N-C-O obtained the car in 1912 from the Union Pacific. On the UP it was numbered 06.
The UP acquired the car from the Denver South Park and Pacific and rebuilt it in 1886. Diagram from that time indicates that it has both ng and sg trucks and had received the number 06..
This three-foot gauge car was built by the Denver, South Park & Pacific, circa 1880 and numbered 050. The South Park which was under Union Pacific control was part of a UP system renumbering program in 1885 and the car was renumbered 025.
Now there are some reports that the F&CC had a officrs' car numbered 06. The F&CC had a caboose numbered 06. No idea if the F&CC was using the caboose or was leasing the UP car.
SP business car 20 was retired and changed to MW-5 as of July 23, 1940. It was retired as a bunk car in Novemember, 1944 and sent to Bayshore Yard and used crew accommodations. It is listed as being broken up on February 7, 1946, at Bay Shore.
I heard that it burned.
