Great(?) Minds do think alike, oh Señor Curmudgeoño del Norte -
IIRC, their original plan was to leave Antonito BEFORE the regular train, but AFTER sunrise?!? A well-known videographer and I both STRONGLY suggested a later trip to take advantage of the afternoon light on the front of the train. I suggested even later, and offered to sacrifice several ancient Press-22b flashbulbs inherited from Tom Gildersleeve for one of those old-fashioned open-the-shutter-and-pop-off-bulbs late-evening photo shoots at Osier. (Which would have required a quick after-dark no-stops trip back to Antonito.)
At least they met us part way, and I have just now (07/01.9:50 PDT) called Gwen and purchased a ticket for the caboose in hopes that Steve & Willie will let me out of jail - at least for a few days - if I promise not to sing or yodel during any of the run-bys

p.s. The Goose will be running that week as well, Wednesday-Saturday IIRC, so this is a good time to get the most bang from your travel buck!
