That's because most serious fans go in the winter when its 20 below out there and yes steam escapes a lot of places when its cold.

Hey, they rebuilt the N&W 611 in less than a year, and some of that was volunteer help, not all paid employees like UP Supposedly has.

Look at the C&TS and D&S which turn those engines out at a rate of about 1 per year on rebuilds. Still have lots of moving parts and boiler work to do just like the mainline engines. Makes the NG and N&W guys look great by comparison.

I do not know the new people involved, but only go by what has NOT run in the past several years. That speaks volumes to me. And that is a fact without name calling or whatever.

This thread really needs to be on Train Orders where they already have countless ones on the subject.
