I worked on the KYLE railroad in KS while the Cecils ran it. It was a good place to railroad. When Statesrail took over it started its slide. When RailAmerica took over the change was unbelievable. One of the Florida officials gave the big "we bought the railroad and it's going to be better" pep talk. He stated that since it was a flatland railroad they were going to prune down the number of engines. Then I explained that the lowest point was a 1,000 feet elevation and the highest was 6,100 feet and he was shocked! They didn't have a clue. JP
