When was the NG at Antonito severed from the dual or standard gauge trackage?
The CATS built their own yard in Antonito shortly after taking over the NG from the D&RGW. The original track was dual gauge up to the Highway 285 crossing, where the "End of Narrow Gauge" sign is. South (or West) of the 285 the CATS track is on the original DRGW roadbed. Just North (or East) of the 285 crossing the track veers off the original ROW into the new yard and station built by the CATS. There is a gap of the original track gone, and a building now stands where the original tack was. Was this separation done when the new yard was built?
Because the CATS now not connected to the "national rail network" are there less regulations that the CATS has to deal with?
