The original shop burned in 1972. Everything you see is new after that happened. The original building was a wood framed, corrugated iron sided structure that dated from probably the 1920's. I imagine the new shop greatly exceeds what was here before. I doubt they had a wheel lathe. The shop floor was constructed to have a drop pit installed, but it has never had the hoist put in.

While some work has been done to the Climax boiler by the RR employees, there is still considerable work to be done. There has been no inspections performed on it yet, other than ones performed by the RR.
