My guess is that they aren't interested. I posted (years ago) to this forum that the UP (or ranchers given permission by the UP) was scrapping the lines north of Plattelville CO [ngdiscussion.net].

I emailed the Friends (also years ago) via their contact page to inform them that the tele lines were being scrapped south of Leadville as well and never heard a peep. Don't know what happened from there. There were literally a few guys cutting the base of the poles and throwing everything into a scrap heap and pitching it all.

Seems like such a waste, but as pointed out above, maybe the insulators would not be correct for the application. Free is free. Just threw it out there.
