As much as I hate to admit a mistake , you are correct. I checked the Narrow Gauge News for August of 1949 and it reads...."Alamosa has a new wye being dual gauge on two sides. 3600 class mallets are now run into Alamosa and to turn them, the wye was made by adding a leg where the mixed gauge line from the north enters the main line." When I saw the remains of that wye in 71, I thought the curve was too tight for a 3600, but guess not!
