There were 4 EBT hoppers to start with, now it is down to 3. I have never heard what happened to the 4th hopper and when it was taken out of service. Bradshaw had the hoppers brought out to Colorado on his own Hi-Acres trucks that he brought up from Florida. I recall a conversation with him at the time where he said that he had to buy his way across the country with over weight fines in a number of states where his rigs exceeded the weight limits. But Charlie at that time was freely writing checks to get what he thought was necessary. When the hoppers went into service, the D&S stopped using the drop bottom gons that sit to this day in Silverton.
I don't recall seeing many, if any, work trains run in recent years with steam under current ownership.
