It's possible that the road to the top of Mt Evans will be open at the end of May. It will definitely be open at least part of the way to the top. In 2012 (a low snow year) it was already open to Summit Lake before the Memorial Day weekend. I took some friends up the road on May 25th (Friday of Memorial Day weekend), and they had just opened the final section from Summit Lake to the top of Mt Evans when we arrived.

Guanella Pass is not open year round. The lower sections of the road are kept open in the winter, but you can't drive over the top. It's likely it will be open Memorial Day weekend. Snow levels have been low the past few years, but if the Front Range sees heavier snow in the Spring it can push back when they open those roads. Snow levels were low in 2011 until we got a number of Spring storms that gave us above average snow. All the high roads opened later that year.

Based on past years, the Loop should be open and running a number of trips per day over the Memorial Day weekend. I think they usually start running in April, so a schedule will probably be up soon.
