I have heard rumors of the existence of the hulk of an ex DSP&P boxcar somewhere around Almont, CO. Apparently there were plans to cosmetically restore it and move it to the Alpine Tunnel site. But it is apparently in such bad shape that some major structural work will have to be made before any attempt to move it is made.
Don't quote me, but I seem to remember the Forest Service had plans to store it under cover in Gunnison until such time as it can be moved to the Alpine Tunnel.
But take all this with a LARGE grain of salt.
