The D&RGW Parlor Cars were discussed in some detail, including history, rebuildings and names in a Five Part series "The Shavano & The San Juan" that ran in the Narrow Gauge & Short Line GAZETTE begining in January 2009 through September 2009. Series included a large number of photos of these cars, both exterior and interior and told how they were used. Three parlor-buffet cars (Alamosa, Durango and Chama) had complete kitchen galleys with stoves, ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers and even an ice cream freezer. Back issues are still available.
