All the discussion we have regarding the expensive snow-clearing, and other stuff on this board, I was wondering how many years the NG portion of the D&RGW ever made money? Particularly the Alamosa to Silverton/Farmington section, but any of the lines. I know there was a point when things started going soar(late 40's maybe?), but with all the expense of building the lines in the early 1880's, and the depression of the 30's, there must have been a scant few years of real profit for the lines. Anyone have data on this?
