489 did not go into the shop until 1980. I have a pic her in that same spot in July 1980, by Sept 1980 she win the shop. 489 went back into service in July, 1981. At the time of the Pic I think 483 was parked in front of the oil house on the track next to the shop. I cant tell if she is behind the speeders or not. Sometime in 1980 or 1981, 483 got shoved up by the oil dock out of the way so newly retired 484 could sit by the oil house.

Work is being done on the west wall of the roundhouse. There are bricks missing at the top and I see a pile of bricks on the roof. Shortly after this, the buttress was built on the front corner to keep the wall from falling over to the west.
