And I'll enthusiastically second all of the above - especially the "really particular and fussy" part. But don't blame it on your age - SFAIK, you've been a Curmudgeon longer than most of us have been around!

p.s. I don't get the part about Roger's elevator - IIRC, THE (Shamrock) HOTEL doesn't even HAVE an elevator!
(Don't plan on staying there if you can't handle fairly steep stairs to the second floor.)
