Not being a realtor in Chama, nor any kind of expert on the hotel business, I can't confirm or deny that the price is right. The biggest things the "Hotel and Shops" have going for them are location, the friendly hosts, and the front deck. It wouldn't measure up to 5-star standards, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the amenities are adequate for die-hard rail fans who just need a comfortable place to crash. The biggest drawbacks for potential buyers are the age and condition of the building and the seasonal nature of the clientele. I've stayed there on numerous occasions, and they suited me just fine, but the wife (and kids if I still had them around), is usually looking for something less Spartan. My spouse tolerates trains, but isn't likely to spend the rest of the non-trip hours exploring the yards and terminal. For my needs, the place is perfect and I'd go there again. For an extended stay, or a trip with the spouse, I'd probably look for someplace a little more "upscale".
