Their calling it an equipment move. Looks like they are running winter trains and giving out free rides next month. From the Facebook page:

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
The US Marine’s El Paso County Toys for Tots and the Cumbres & Toltec
Scenic Railroad Announce a Special Event for Southern Colorado’s Kids

The El Paso County Marines Toys for Tots and the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad running out of Antonito, Colorado have partnered together to do a special Christmas Train in the San Luis Valley for the Marines Toys For Tots 2015 Event. Everyone is invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience Colorado’s highest and longest narrow gauge railroad and also create a special moment for children at Christmas. Everyone young and old, including families, is invited to join us on the train.

On December 7th (Pearl Harbor Day) the Marines Toys for Tots Crew goes to Antonito, Colorado where the train will make special runs all day long at no charge for passengers. The only requirement will be a Toy Donation to Toys for Tots for the “ticket to ride” for each adult passenger. The Marines will distribute the toys to needy families in the San Luis Valley and Southern Colorado.

The first train is scheduled to depart Antonito at 10:00 AM on Sunday morning, December 7th. Santa, complimentary hot beverages and snacks will be provided. Multiple train trips will be made during the afternoon to accommodate the number of passengers who wish to participate in the toy drive.

The El Paso County Marines Toys for Tots will be bring their “Christmas Toy Train” to Antonito where it will be loaded on a railroad flatbed car and pulled in the train with the passenger cars.

Russ Miller, of the El Paso County Toys for Tots, said they have been searching for a strong partner to expand the TFT program into the Southern Colorado area and this is the perfect match. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad hopes to continue this program with the Marines Toys for Tots each year moving forward. Miller indicates that they will be contacting the local Antonito area schools for toy deliveries during this event.
